The governor of São Paulo, Tarcísio de Freitas, stated this Tuesday (27) that he would deny a possible request from Bolsonaro to run for president of the republic. The governor stated that he is focused on continuing the state government’s plans.
The allegation was made during the governor’s visit to an event in Sorocaba. Tarcísio has a scheduled visit to “Papudinha”, inside the Papuda Penitentiary Complex, in Brasília, this Thursday (29) to meet Jair Bolsonaro, who is serving a sentence of 27 years and 3 months there.
Furthermore, the governor stated that before political matters, his intention with the visit is to have a ‘friendly chat’ with the former president and offer support. According to him, attempts to bring Bolsonaro under house arrest are still ongoing and Tarcísio is hopeful that the defense can achieve this at some point.
