The Russian Defense Ministry published a video showing the joint training of crews of the BMPT Terminator and the T-80BVM tank.
The activities involve soldiers from the 6th Guard Tank Regiment, part of the 90th Guard Tank Division of the “Center” Force Group, in an instruction camp.
According to the information released, the crews are preparing to carry out combat tasks, focusing on the integrated use of the BMPT as a tank support machine. The military trains tactics aimed at destroying fortified posts, armored vehicles and enemy forces, increasing the protection and effectiveness of armored units in complex operations.
During the exercise, teams practice weapons loading procedures, quick exits to firing positions and firing at targets at distances of up to 4,000 meters. The training also includes coordination between the BMPT and the T-80BVM, simulating combat scenarios that require rapid response and high volume of fire.

BMPT Terminator
The BMPT Terminator was developed to operate in conjunction with tanks, especially in urban environments and difficult terrain, where tanks face greater vulnerability to anti-tank threats. The vehicle is designed to neutralize RPG-equipped infantry, fortified positions and soft targets, increasing the survivability of the armored force through rapid and diversified fire.

Among its main features are two 30 mm 2A42 automatic cannons, a 7.62 mm coaxial machine gun and guided anti-tank missiles, as well as heavy armor based on the T-72/T-90 chassis with reactive protection. Depending on the variant, the crew varies between three and five soldiers, supported by optronic systems for day and night engagement of multiple targets.
According to Russian doctrine, the BMPT is used to accompany tanks on the front line, covering sectors that the MBT’s main gun cannot engage efficiently, especially in urban combat, forested areas and mountainous regions.
