US works to expel Iranian influence in Latin America

At first glance, Bolivia — a landlocked country of 12 million inhabitants located in the heart of South America — would seem an unlikely location for an indirect dispute between major world powers. Some current and former U.S. officials, however, said the country has become an important base for Iran’s diplomatic and intelligence operations across the continent.
