The Conduct Adjustment Term signed between the State of Rio, the Health Foundation and the PCS Labs Lab Saleme provides for reparation to victims of HIV -contaminated organ transplants, carried out in the state public network.
The document, signed on Tuesday (8), makes it mandatory to offer a medical, psychological and social care program to patients and family members, to be fulfilled by the State Department of Health.
Among the expected measures are supply of medicines, specialized care, transport to health facilities and exclusive care channels.
The agreement should avoid legal proceedings ensuring immediate reparation and, according to the Public Prosecution Service, ensuring “continuous, humanized and resolute care for victims of a serious adverse event in the public health system, based on the principles of human dignity and damage prevention”.
