The Brazilian film “The Secret Agent” was nominated for the 2026 Oscar in the category of Best Film, Best International Film, Best Cast and Best Actor for Wagner Moura’s performance.
The film, directed by Kleber Mendonça Filho, marks a new chapter in the history of national cinema. With the nominations, the film ties with another Brazilian classic, “City of God”, which also had four nominations.
The 2026 Oscars take place on March 15, in Los Angeles, in the United States. Just like in 2025, the 98th edition of the American awards will feature comedian Conan O’Brien as presenter.
