The Prime Minister of Israel, Benjamin Netanyahu, agreed this Wednesday (21) to be part of the Peace Council created by Donald Trump to discuss the future of the Gaza Strip.
Benjamin Netanyahu’s decision comes after the Israeli government criticized the existence of this body. Netanyahu’s entry into the group is also surprising because the country’s important rival, Turkey, will also be there.
Several international leaders, including President Lula, were invited. Benjamin Netanyahu is the target of an international arrest warrant for alleged war crimes committed by Israeli troops in the Palestinian enclave. He has also repeated at different times that Palestine will not be independent.
