European countries are studying ways to retaliate against threats made by US President Donald Trump, who is seeking support to annex Greenland.
Some legislators have even considered a boycott of the World Cup, which takes place from June 11th in the USA, Mexico and Canada.
British MP Luke Tayloro suggested that King Charles III cancel his trip to the USA, as well as the entire team boycotting the sporting event. According to him, this would show Trump that “the only thing he considers relevant is his own pride.”
The Brit added that the United Kingdom is not dealing with a rational man, referring to the American president.
Conservative MP Simon Hoare, also from the United Kingdom, agreed in criticizing Trump, accusing him of disrespecting his allies. He suggested that his country respond in kind by withdrawing its participation from the World Cup.
Speaking to the German newspaper Bild, federal deputy Jürgen Hardt argued that “the presence of the country’s team at the World Cup must be evaluated to bring Trump to his senses regarding the Greenland issue.”
