The Minister of Education, Camilo Santana, confirmed this Monday (19) that he will leave command of the department later this year. The decision comes amid the PT’s strategic planning for the state elections, with the aim of strengthening the allied base in Ceará.
According to information from reporter Túlio Amâncio, from Band, Camilo’s main focus will be to act as one of the main organizers in Elmano de Freitas’ re-election campaign to the Ceará government.
Own candidacy is seen as “Plan B”
Although Camilo Santana’s name circulates behind the scenes as a possible candidate for the government of Ceraá, the hypothesis is currently treated only as a last resort alternative.
Elected senator in 2022 with a record vote, Camilo has a mandate in the upper house until 2030. A candidacy for state government would require resigning from his legislative position.
