This Wednesday (09), the vote on the Constitution and Justice Commission of the House of Representatives (CCJ) of PEC of Public Security, proposal that faces much resistance in Congress. The PEC, according to the government, would have the purpose of standardizing and modernizing the performance of public security bodies across the country.
The text is criticized for centralizing decisions on security policies in the hands of the federal government, ignoring the reality of states. CCJ members will vote on the constitutionality of the text. If approved, it follows for analysis in a special committee, where it will undergo changes, until the completion of a final text for vote on the House Plenary.
In early April, Ricardo Lewandowski, Minister of Justice and primarily responsible for the text, presented the proposal for amendment to the Constitution to the mayor, Hugo Motta (Republicans-PB), and the other leaders of the house. The PEC rapporteur is Deputy Mendonça Filho (União-PE)
