This Friday (16), Shopping Tijuca, in Rio de Janeiro, reopens its doors after spending two weeks closed due to an underground fire that left two employees dead. The basement and part of the first floor, where 14 stores are located, remain closed by Civil Defense.
Among the dead was a security supervisor at the mall, who was rescued in serious condition and taken to the hospital. In addition to him, a brigade member who also worked at the shopping center died. She worked in the rescue and was reported missing.
The site underwent inspection this Wednesday (14) and was cleared for reopening. Three other people were injured during the fire. The police are investigating the circumstances of the accident.
