Members of Venezuela’s interim dictatorship returned to X, whose access in the country was reestablished after being unavailable since August 2024.
The country’s interim dictator, Delcy Rodríguez, published a message on the social network on Tuesday (13).
“We are resuming contact through this channel. Venezuela remains standing, strong and with historical awareness. Let us remain united, advancing towards economic stability, social justice and the social welfare state that we deserve!”, wrote the Chavista, who took command of the Venezuelan regime after the capture of the then dictator Nicolás Maduro by American forces on the 3rd.
The Venezuelan Minister of Interior, Justice and Peace, Diosdado Cabello, was another member of the Chavista leadership who posted on the platform on Tuesday.
“I’m passing by to give a big hug to the brothers and sisters from Venezuela and the world who have been following the situation in our country. We will resume communication through this channel, stay tuned. We will win!”, wrote the number 2 of Chavismo.
South American sites, such as the Argentine Infobae, confirmed that access to X has been reestablished in Venezuela. The social network had been blocked by Maduro in August 2024, the month after the fraud in the presidential election that kept him in power.
Despite this blockade (now closed), the NGO Cazadores de Fake News released a report in November last year that found that the Maduro regime used accounts on X maintained by Chavista agents, disguised as ordinary users of the social network, to carry out political propaganda and challenge US President Donald Trump.
