The 999.8 cc liquid-cooled DOHC inline four-cylinder has been updated for 2027. Suzuki emphasizes that the engine maintains its high reliability and ease of use, now with an even more linear torque delivery, resulting in the most powerful and fastest-accelerating engine ever fitted to a GSX-R.

The six-speed cassette gearbox features the Suzuki Clutch Assist System (SCAS), which acts as a slipper clutch when downshifting and increases clutch pressure during acceleration. The bidirectional quickshifter allows clutchless shifting, both upshifting and downshifting.

The 2027 GSX-R1000R uses a light and compact aluminum twin-spar frame with adjustable swingarm pivots for easy tuning for sporty use. The suspension consists of Showa® BFF components at the front and BFRC-Lite at the rear, mounted in milled housings with a gold anodized finish.

The braking system features radially mounted Brembo® monobloc calipers at the front, which engage 320 mm T-Drive floating discs, fed by stainless steel brake lines. Lean angle-sensitive ABS monitors operation under various driving conditions.

Highlights include a new, lighter and more accurate inertial measurement unit (IMU), which provides motion and position data in six directions and three axes. This data enables instant adjustments to traction control, wheelie control, cornering torque control and lean angle-sensitive ABS.

The multi-function LCD instrument panel with black background is inspired by the dashboard of the MotoGP-GSX-RR. The bike also features a new, lighter and more compact lithium-ion battery, as well as aerodynamic fairings with full LED lighting and Ram Air Direct intakes.
