The Golden Globes 2026 was one for the record books.
After all, the Jan. 11 ceremony—hosted by Nikki Glazer at The Beverly Hilton in Los Angeles—was the first time in the award show’s 83-year history that a prize for Best Podcast was handed out, with Amy Poehler‘s Good Hang taking home the inaugural title. (Click here to see the red carpet arrivals.)
“I don’t know about awards shows, but when they get it right, it makes sense,” the Parks and Recreation alum joked. “I’m new to this game, I have great respect for this form.”
However, that wasn’t the only unprecedented moment of the night.
Ricky Gervais—who already holds the record for hosting the most Golden Globes ceremonies with five shows under his belt—became the first entertainer to win two Best Performance in Stand-Up Comedy on Television awards.
Speaking of records, Jean Smart beat her own as oldest performer to win Best Female Actor in a TV Musical/Comedy at age 74.
On the other hand, Owen Cooper entered into record books as the youngest performer to win Best Supporting Male Actor in TV for his breakout performance in Adolescence.
