The Ministry of Justice ordered the reinforcement of National Force troops on the border between Brazil and Venezuela. The initial term is 90 days, which can be extended as necessary. No number has been determined for the staff, which will be calculated according to the request of Roraima’s security agencies.
An ordinance from the Ministry of Justice and Public Security, published in the Official Gazette of the Union this Thursday (8), authorizes the employment of federative troop agents in the capital of Roraima, Boa Vista, and in Pacaraima (RR), a border city and the main gateway to Brazilian territory for Venezuelans leaving their country.

Signed by Minister Ricardo Lewandowski, the text of MJSP Ordinance No. 1,127 establishes that the agents will work in the two municipalities of Roraima. During this period, the troop will support state public security bodies in activities and services essential to preserving public order and guaranteeing the integrity of the population.

The National Force team is made up of federal agents and military and civilian police (including firefighters and experts) provided by the states and the Federal District. The National Public Security Force is subordinate to the National Public Security Secretariat, of the Ministry of Justice and Public Security.
The contingent can act in any part of the national territory, at the request of governors or ministries that need support for their actions. The Ministry has not yet reported the total number of National Force agents employed in Roraima.
