India has publicly unveiled the Suryastra, its new long-range missile launch system, during the Army Day exercises in Jaipur.
The demonstration marked the official debut of the indigenous platform, developed to enhance the precision strike capability of the Indian Army in various operational scenarios.
Based on the technology of Israel’s PULS system, Suryastra was shown in a configuration capable of firing 370mm Predator Hawk missiles with a range of up to 300 km and 306mm guided missiles with a range of up to 150 km.
The system is designed as a universal launcher, capable of firing different calibers and ammunition without requiring structural changes to the platform.
The demonstration followed the signing of a contract worth approximately USD 69 million between the Indian Army and NIBE Limited for the supply of the system, in collaboration with Israeli companies.
According to defense authorities, the Suryastra will complement systems like Pinaka, strengthening the modernization of India’s rocket artillery and increasing the range and precision of long-range strikes.
