Ukrainian Military Intelligence (GUR) has received a domestically developed armed patrol boat funded by the Diana Podolianchuk Foundation, an official statement explains.

Like from the portal Defence Blog reported, the new boat was handed over by the Diana Podolianchuk Foundation last week (on the 1st). The release describes the handover as a “New Year’s transfer effort” in support of maritime operations.

The boat is a domestically developed project and is said to be the first of its kind to be produced in Ukraine. There are currently only a few comparable platforms on the global market. According to the secret service, it will be used in operations throughout the Black Sea region.

“I thank everyone involved in the implementation of this project. Thanks to these boats, we can carry out special operations on water with confidence and fight for our Black Sea,” explained Lieutenant General Kyrylo Budanowhead of Ukrainian military intelligence, said in a statement about the handover.

The boat is intended to provide fire protection and direct support for maritime operations conducted by Ukrainian military intelligence units. Key features include the modular armament configuration, allowing the installation of heavy machine guns and grenade launchers that can be interchanged depending on operational requirements.

The boat’s hull and cabin feature shrapnel and bulletproof protection, while each firing position is equipped with its own armored shield. The platform is also equipped with modern navigation technology, communication systems and command and control means, allowing it to be used effectively in a wide range of operational scenarios.

The boat is 10 meters long and can carry up to two tons of payload, making it one of the largest vessels in the Ukrainian military intelligence inventory. Its dimensions and load capacity enable the transport of personnel, weapons and mission equipment while maintaining high maneuverability.
