India officially introduced the new generation civil helicopter DHRUV-NG at a ceremony held in Bangalore. The event was attended by Minister of Civil Aviation, Ram Mohan Naidu, as well as executives of Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL).
DHRUV-NG belongs to the class of light twin-engine helicopters, with a maximum take-off weight of 5.5 tons.
This aircraft is equipped with an Indian-made Shakti 1H1C turboshaft engine, which is capable of reaching speeds of up to 285 km/h and carrying up to 14 passengers.
The main innovations include a fully digital cockpit with a glass cockpit that meets AS4 standards, a modern avionics system, as well as improvements to the vibration dampening system aimed at increasing comfort in the cabin.

According to HAL, this new helicopter is considered as one of the key projects to strengthen the national rotary wing industry, contributing to reducing dependence on imported technology as well as developing local industrial capabilities in the aerospace sector.
