The Attorney General of the Republic, Paulo Gonet, decided to archive the representation requesting the opening of an investigation against the minister of the Federal Supreme Court (STF), Alexandre de Moraes, and his wife, lawyer Viviane Barci de Moraes, in the case involving the Master bank. The decision was made on Saturday (27).
The request had been presented by lawyer Enio Martins Murad, who alleged Moraes’ alleged work with the president of the Central Bank, Gabriel Galípolo, in defense of the financial institution’s private interests.
The representation also mentioned a contract for the provision of legal services signed between the Master bank and the office of the minister’s wife.
In the order, Paulo Gonet stated that not enough elements were identified to initiate a criminal investigation. According to the attorney general, the facts narrated do not demonstrate, objectively, the practice of illicit acts nor do they indicate irregular conduct on the part of the STF minister.
As a result, the Attorney General’s Office concluded that the request was closed.
