Donald Trump has said he hopes a deal to end the war in Ukraine is ‘closer than ever’ after a two-hour meeting with Volodymyr Zelenskyy in Florida. The US and Ukrainian presidents indicated at a joint press conference there was near agreement on a US-Ukraine security deal but Trump said a few ‘thorny issues’ around territory had to be resolved.
