The former director of the Federal Highway Police, Silvinei Vasques, arrived at the Papuda penitentiary, in Brasília. He was arrested in Paraguay after violating the electronic ankle monitor and trying to escape to the country.
Silvinei Vasques’ escape turned on the yellow light in Brasília and precipitated a series of house arrest warrants. Minister Alexandre de Moraes’ claim for the decision was to prevent a possible escape of others convicted of attempted coups.
The Federal Police carried out nine warrants throughout Saturday (27), with the installation of electronic ankle monitors. One of the targets was Jair Bolsonaro’s former international affairs advisor, Filipe Martins, who according to the defense, is being punished for the actions of third parties.
Silvinei Vasques arrived in Brasília after being arrested by Paraguayan authorities. He broke the electronic ankle bracelet, crossed the border with false documents and was detained at the airport when he tried to board a flight to El Salvador. The former director of the Federal Highway Police underwent a criminal examination at the Federal Police and was transferred to Papudinha, a special wing of the Papuda prison. Silvinei is now also being investigated by the PF for having presented false documents and medical certificates.
