Collision between two cars leaves ten dead on BR-101, in the extreme south of Bahia

Ten people died in a collision between two cars on a stretch of BR-101, in the city of Mucuri, in the extreme south of Bahia. The accident was recorded at km 953 of the highway, in an area close to the state border with Espírito Santo.

According to the Federal Highway Police (PRF), the vehicles collided head-on and then caught fire. Another person was seriously injured and was rescued. The causes of the collision are still unknown and the identities of the victims have not been released.

Due to the severity of the accident, the PRF had to completely close the road to deal with the incident and remove the vehicles. Traffic was later released.
