Its senior analyst, Ladd Serwat, did not comment directly on InterSociety’s reports, but told the BBC that the figure of 100,000 deaths, widely reported on social media, would include all acts of political violence that have occurred in Nigeria – and therefore it would not be correct to say that this total corresponds only to Christians killed since 2009.
