Robbery suspect tries to shoot police officer in US market The body camera of a police officer in Canton, a city in Ohio, in the United States, captured the moment a robbery suspect tried to shoot him after being detained in a supermarket. The images, released by the local police department this Monday (22), were recorded on Thursday (18). The boy, identified as 21-year-old Shane Newman, had been taken to an office at the back of the premises. While the police officer checked his identity and that of his companion to release them, Shane takes the gun from a shoulder bag, points it at the agent, but is unable to fire and ends up disarmed by a security guard who noticed the action in time. “He pulled out a gun, pointed it at my head and pulled the trigger. The gun didn’t fire. I pulled mine out. He ended up surrendering,” the officer told another colleague when describing what happened. The young man was arrested on charges of attempted murder, aggravated assault on a peace officer and drug possession.
