Gustavo Feliciano, appointed by President Lula as the new Minister of Tourism, should be sworn in this Tuesday (23), in Brasília. Feliciano was the name suggested by União Brasil to take over the ministry after the party asked the government for the position of Celso Sabino, who was expelled from the party.
Former Secretary of Tourism of Paraíba and son of federal deputy Damião Feliciano (União-PB), Gustavo Feliciano was nominated by the president of the Chamber of Deputies, Hugo Motta (Republicanos-PB). União Brasil holds command of the ministry and chose him to take over the vacancy.
The appointment of Gustavo Feliciano and the intention of placing an evangelical in the position are seen as another nod from President Lula to this segment of the electorate.
