Experts from Rostec State Corporation’s United Aircraft Corporation (UAC) and United Engine Corporation (UEC) have begun flight testing of the new fifth-generation engine ‘Product 177’ integrated into the Su-57 fighter jet.
The first flight with the new propellant was conducted by test pilot Roman Kondratiev and, according to the official statement, proceeded normally within all parameters scheduled for the test mission. The engine demonstrated stable and reliable operation throughout the entire flight.

RostecAccording to Sukhoi Su-57has already proven its performance in a practical environment and has low observability (stealth) It meets the standards required for a 5th generation fighter, including characteristics.

The company also said that the aircraft is receiving interest from overseas customers and that export procedures are already underway.
Meanwhile, the Su-57 program continues to develop. Operational experience is being used to expand armament capabilities and upgrade on-board systems.
The introduction of the ‘Product 177’ engine with increased output is expected to contribute to improving flight characteristics and become the basis for future platform modernization.

The Su-57 was developed as a multi-purpose fighter capable of performing missions against air, ground, and sea targets.
This aircraft can operate 24 hours a day even in adverse weather conditions and strong electromagnetic interference environments, and maintains the ability to engage targets protected by modern air defense systems.
OKB Sukhoi director Mikhail Streltsov said the Su-57 is continuously being improved with a focus on improving combat capabilities and integrating advanced technologies.
He explained that the platform’s architecture is designed to enable rapid integration of new technology solutions throughout the development cycle, ensuring adaptability to a variety of operational environments.
‘Product 177‘The engine was designed by UEC with the goal of being applied to tactical and operational fighter aircraft.

Through the application of new materials, manufacturing technology, and innovative design solutions, a propellant with significantly improved performance compared to the previous generation engine was completed.
This maiden flight marks the beginning of the flight test phase conducted jointly by the UEC and UAC as part of the Su-57 program.
Currently, United Aircraft Corporation is pursuing an industrial capacity expansion program.
This initiative aims to increase the supply of Su-57 to the Russian Armed Forces while expanding its offering in international markets, across production. Rostec Several companies under the group are participating.
