Published this Tuesday (2) on X, where it reached more than 3.7 million views, the post has the following description (in English): “If this is China now, imagine in the future…”. The video shows a sequence of scenes in which workers dressed in white and with caps on their heads appear “dyeing” fruits, vegetables and greens with sprays and in basins of colored water. One of the images shows green tomatoes on a conveyor belt turning red after being sprayed from a machine. In the comments, users questioned whether the scene was true, but the material was completely created with artificial intelligence (AI). After publication, the post received a community note from X himself, saying: “Please note that this video uses AI to create fruit coloring scenes, marked with the watermark ‘AI生成’ (AI technology). AI detectors confirm that 99.9% of the content is automatically generated and is not real footage.” ⚠️ Why is this fake? Fato ou Fake submitted the video to Hive Moderation, a tool that detects the use of AI in images, videos and audio. Result: there is a 99.9% chance that the content was created with this feature (see below). Furthermore, the video features a watermark in Chinese (AI生成|) which means “generated by AI” and a text box superimposed on the images, also in Chinese, indicating that the content is synthetic: “The images in the video are digitally composed and do not exist in reality.” HiveModeration points out the use of AI in video of fruits being artificially “dyed”.
