According to Dmitry Semizorov, deputy general director of the Uralvagonzavod special equipment division, combat operations continue to be the main driver of improvements in the industry.

He emphasized that the central objective is to increase the effectiveness of TOS against modern threats, especially UAVs, which have become an ever-present presence on the battlefield. “The industrial group’s engineers and designers are constantly improving Solntsepyok’s performance.”
A version based on the T-80 is nearing completion
Testing of a modernized version developed on the basis of the T-80 tank chassis is in the final stages. This new modified version includes improvements such as extended range, increased accuracy, and increased automation of operational processes.
The TOS-1A is one of the most feared and effective systems in the Russian arsenal, particularly known for its powerful thermobaric effect and the lack of direct equivalents in other countries’ militaries.
Delivery with symbolism and commemoration

The arrival of this new batch took place the day before Chemical, Biological, Radiological and Nuclear (CBRN) Defense Force Day. One of the newly modernized units was officially handed over to the force in memory of Senior General Igor Kirillov, former commander of the Russian Federation’s CBRN forces, who played a key role in the development and improvement of this weapon.
Widely used in military operations in recent years, the TOS-1A has become one of the symbols of Russian operations and is used to ensure fire superiority on many fronts.
