A new survey by Genial/Quaest, released this Thursday (13), showed that a significant part of voters want a different path from the leaders that marked the last presidential disputes. The study interviewed 2,004 people between November 6 and 9, with a margin of error of plus or minus 2 percentage points and a confidence level of 95%.
Preference for the outcome of the election
According to the institute, 24% of those interviewed consider it ideal for the country to choose a candidate in 2026 who has no relationship with Lula or Bolsonaro. Soon after, 23% believe that the best scenario would be for Lula to remain in office.
In a movement that reinforces the search for renewal, 17% say they would like to see someone with no history in politics as President. 15% prefer Bolsonaro to regain eligibility and return to Planalto.
Furthermore, 11% say that the most positive result would be the victory of a name supported by Bolsonaro, while 5% opt for a candidate endorsed by Lula. Another 5% were unable to answer.
Lula’s possible candidacy
The survey also questioned whether Lula should run for a new term. The majority, 59%, understand that he should not seek re-election. Another 38% advocate that the president enter the dispute again, while 3% have no opinion.

Bolsonaro’s political future
The survey also assessed what Bolsonaro’s role should be in the election. For 67%, the former president needs to give up his candidacy and support another name. In the opposite direction, 26% support him going ahead with his plan to return to the presidential race. 7% were unable to answer.
