The police are investigating whether the driver who was tied to a truck and blocked the Rodoanel for five hours was the victim of a kidnapping or robbery. The case happened around 5am this Wednesday (12). The trailer was crossed at kilometer 45, of the Rodoanel Mário Covas, in Itapecerica da Serra, in Greater São Paulo.
There was a suspected bomb in the cabin, but the device did not contain explosive material. The driver was removed from the vehicle by police and taken to the hospital, very shaken, but without injuries.
He said he had been the target of a robbery, but the truck got stuck and the three criminals forced him to leave it parked in the middle of the road. After talking to the police officer, the driver got out of the truck’s cabin and collapsed on the asphalt. He was then carried unconscious by police officers and taken away on a stretcher from the dealership.
A police dog was used to sniff out the artifacts. There were impacts on traffic and congestion reached 40 kilometers this morning. Two Águia helicopters also provided support to the operation, in addition to firefighters and road police.
