Anvisa suspended a Whey Protein brand due to lack of health regulation. The agency prohibited the marketing, distribution, manufacture, import, dissemination and consumption of Proteus/Whey Isolate Protein Mix brand protein powder supplements.
The products were sold on websites and online sales, such as Shoppe and Mercado Livre. In addition to the lack of regularization, the brand had no national manufacturer or importer.
The Agency also ordered the recall of food supplements from Bugroon Raízes Indústria e Comércio de Produtos Naturais Ltda. The company had the marketing, distribution, manufacturing, import, advertising and consumption of its products suspended.
