Soldiers from the 80th Separate Air Assault Brigade of the Galician Airborne Forces have received American M2 Bradley infantry fighting vehicles, expanding the unit’s tactical capabilities on the Ukrainian front.
According to a video released by the 80th Brigade press service, the M2 Bradleys were officially incorporated into the unit’s arsenal.
However, with the increased use of drones on the combat fronts, the application of these vehicles has become more restricted, being used only when considered necessary.

To face this new reality, the armored vehicles received additional protection structures against enemy drones — known among the military as “braziers”. These metal grids aim to reduce the impact of airstrikes from small explosive drones.
The commander of one of the vehicles, identified as Ruslan, commented on the Bradley’s performance and the hope for new technological solutions:
“I read that during Operation Desert Storm in Iraq, Bradleys proved to be extremely effective. I hope that, in our war, they will soon invent something against fiber optic drones. Then this equipment will prove its value again.”

The 81st Bukovyna Brigade also recently received units of the same model, reinforcing the presence of vehicles of American origin in Ukrainian forces.
The M2 Bradley is considered one of the most versatile infantry fighting vehicles in the world. Your autocannon M242 Bushmaster 25 mm is capable of piercing the armor of most Russian vehicles and can fire up to 500 rounds per minute, in single mode or in bursts.
The United States has supplied M2 Bradleys to Ukraine as part of military aid packages sent since the start of the conflict.
