Botafogo announced in the early hours of Monday (30), through an official note, that Renato Paiva is no longer coach of the club.
The departure comes after eliminating at the FIFA World Cup to Palmeiras, last Saturday (28), in a match valid for the round of 16. The Rio club was defeated 1-0, with Paulinho’s goal in overtime.
Paiva was on the edge of the field for Botafogo in 23 games, with 12 wins, three draws and eight losses. The use was 56.5%. At the FIFA World Cup, the coach was mainly marked by the 1-0 win over Paris Saint-Germain in the second round of the group stage of the competition. In addition to him, technical assistants Ricardo Dionísio and Miguel dos Santos, goalkeeper trainer Rui Tavares and physical trainer Daniel Castro also left the club.
