United States President Donald Trump again pressure on Sunday for a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip. In a message published on social networks, Trump charged the closing of an agreement and highlighted the need to release the hostages kidnapped by Hamas.
The terrorist group, in turn, accused the Israeli government of hindering negotiations by imposing “impossible conditions” to achieve consensus. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu says it is the enemies that bar the advance of the truce.
While conversations do not advance, attacks on the Gaza Strip continue. Only this Sunday, about 40 people died in bombing, according to data released by doctors in the region.
At the same time, Iran claimed to have “serious doubts” about Israel’s commitment to ceasefire. The head of the Iranian Armed Forces said he said he was not convinced that archirrivals will honor their commitment. He assured, however, that the army is ready to react if it is attacked again.
Despite the threats, the truce between Iran and Israel has been respected so far. The clashes between the two countries lasted 12 days and left almost a thousand dead – most in the Iranian territory.
