UN Security Council opens session that could authorize use of force in the Strait of Hormuz this Tuesday

Resolution, proposed by Bahrain, authorizes countries to use force in the strait for at least 6 months. Beijing, which has a permanent seat, could block the measure. Voting would take place on Friday (3), but diplomats will try to reach an agreement with countries that have veto power to release the measure, proposed by Bahrain.
