Unit claims to have incorporated the western system alongside the 2S22 Bohdana and RM-70 Vampire in operations in the east of the country
The 52nd Separate Artillery Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported that it now has 203mm M110 self-propelled howitzers in its arsenal. The information was released by the unit’s own press service, which also detailed the current composition of its artillery assets.
According to the brigade, the unit is equipped with the 2S22 Bohdana self-propelled guns, the RM-70 Vampire rocket systems and the M110A 203mm self-propelled howitzer.
According to the Ukrainian military, the Bohdana system is used in precision strikes against long-range targets, including artillery pieces, depots and command posts of Russian forces. The RM-70 Vampire is used for saturation attacks, focusing on enemy positions and concentrations of infantry and equipment.

The unit did not say how it received the M110 self-propelled howitzers. The incorporation of the system, however, may be related to military assistance packages provided to Ukraine by partner countries since the start of the large-scale Russian invasion in February 2022.
In October 2025, Greek press outlets reported that the Greek government was considering selling 60 203 mm M110A2 self-propelled howitzers, in addition to 150,000 rounds of ammunition, to Ukraine through the Czech Republic. The total estimated value of the package would be more than 199 million euros.
According to these reports, the Greek military leadership assessed that the eventual transfer would not compromise the country’s defense capacity. The list of armaments mentioned included, in addition to howitzers, 50,000 M106 projectiles, 40,000 M650 HERA, 30,000 M404 ICM projectiles and 30,000 M509A1 DPICM cluster munitions.
The 52nd Separate Artillery Brigade was formed on August 1, 2025 on the basis of the 55th Separate Artillery Brigade “Zaporizhzhia Sich”. Since then, its units have been operating in eastern Ukraine in fire support missions, counterbattery combat and attacks against the logistics of Russian forces.
The arrival of the M110 expands the brigade’s heavy fire capacity at a time when artillery continues to play a central role in the conflict. Originally developed in the United States, the M110 is a large-caliber self-propelled howitzer designed for long-range bombing missions and the destruction of fortified positions.
