The U.S. Air Force continues to make progress in testing the F-15EX Eagle II, its newest multirole fighter, with evaluation flights recently completed over the Southeast.

The campaign is led by the 96th and 53rd Wings and aims to analyze the aircraft’s performance in key areas such as combat survivability, radar, sensors and integration into military networks.

The main objective of these tests is to prepare the F-15EX for wider operational use, as the model is designed to replace the older F-15C/D. Despite previous exercises, including a large-scale exercise in 2025, the Air Force still believes it is necessary to fine-tune the formal evaluations, particularly when it comes to survivability systems and technology integration.

Derived from the F-15QA and based on the platform of F-15E Strike Eaglethe F-15EX combines a proven structure with modern technologies, including “fly-by-wire“controls and advanced electronic warfare systems. In addition, the aircraft excels in its ability to carry a large amount of weapons and operate integrated in complex operations, while the Air Force works to improve maintenance processes and technical support.
