Mark Consuelos is saying goodbye to the man who raised him.
The Live With Kelly and Mark cohost struggled to maintain his composure as he shared that his dad Saul Consuelos died March 23 following a lengthy health battle.
“Two weeks ago today, my father passed away after a long bout with illness,” Mark said on the April 6 episode of the daytime talk show. “He passed away peacefully. Gosh, such a fascinating man.”
The 55-year-old’s wife Kelly Ripa—with whom he shares kids Michael Consuelos28, Lola Consuelos24, and Joaquin Consuelos23—emphasized that their family had been “blessed” by the late patriarch’s life.
“You have been blessed more because you knew him your whole life,” she told Mark during their chat. “I only got to know my father-in-law for 31 years, but they were the best 31 years of my life. I can honestly say I will miss him every day for the rest of my life, as I know you will, as our children will.”
