Israel again attacked this Monday (6) the South Pars petrochemical complex in Iran, the largest in the Middle East. The attack was announced by the Israeli Ministry of Defense. This is the second time since the start of the war that Israel has bombed the complex. First, in mid-March, the United States condemned the attack and assured Iran that there would be no new offensives there. Iran’s Fars news agency said several explosions were reported at the complex. ✅ Follow the g1 international news channel on WhatsApp LIVE: Follow the latest news from the war in the Middle East The gas production complex had already been targeted by Israel two weeks ago, in an attack that the US itself later condemned. At the time, Donald Trump said that he had ordered Israel to no longer attack the plants. Also on Monday, Israel’s Defense Minister Israel Katz said his military had been instructed to bomb Iran’s national infrastructure. “The IDF forcefully struck Iran’s largest petrochemical facility, located in Asaluyeh,” following an attack on another facility last week, Katz said. “Now, the two facilities, which together are responsible for around 85% of Iran’s petrochemical exports, have been decommissioned and are inoperative,” the statement said.
