Iran says it is prepared for “at least” six months of war

The Iranian regime stated this Tuesday (31) that it is prepared for “at least six months” of war against Israel and the United States, after American President Donald Trump stated that the conflict could end within three weeks.

The estimate was presented by Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi in an interview with Al Jazeera.

“We have not set deadlines to defend ourselves. We will defend our country and our people as much as necessary and by all means required,” said the chancellor.

“It doesn’t matter what deadlines our enemies set for themselves. However, our recommendation is that they end this war completely and permanently before they suffer further damage,” Araghchi said.

On Tuesday, at a press conference, Trump said that the main objective of preventing Iran from obtaining a nuclear weapon would have already been achieved and that the end of the conflict could occur “within two weeks, maybe two weeks, maybe three”.

The American president stated that “Iran does not need to make a deal” for the war, which began on February 28, to come to an end.

In the interview with Al Jazeera, Araghchi again argued that Tehran is not in direct negotiations with the US, but stated that the regime received messages from Steve Witkoff, Trump’s envoy for the Middle East, and is communicating through intermediaries.

“Negotiation is when two countries engage in talks to reach an agreement, and that does not exist between us and the United States,” said the Iranian foreign minister.
