Zara Larsson is telling it like it is.
After rumors circulated that the “Lush Life” singer was asked to replace Camila Cabello in Fifth Harmony following her exit from the band in 2016, Zara firmly set the record straight.
“Oh, no. I don’t do groups,” Zara told Tomás Mier during an interview at the Spotify Live Roomshared on March 12. “I would never be in a group.”
She added, “It wasn’t like that.”
Though the 28-year-old—who toured with Camila and her former bandmates Ally Brooke, Normani Kordei, Lauren Jauregui and Dinah Jane as part of Cher Lloyd‘s 2014 I Wish tour—has “always” been a fan of the girl group, she knows herself—and her desire to be the spotlight.
“I’m a big fan of girl groups. I love that,” Zara explained. “I feel like the girl groups are coming back big time. I just know personally, if I was [in a girl group]I would be front and center.”
“I love a girl group,” she continued. “I just couldn’t take not singing lead all the time.”
