What’s it like to visit the ghost towns where ‘time stopped’ after the disaster

I was invited by the Japanese government, through the Ministry of the Environment, to participate in a tour with journalists from different parts of the world. The proposal was to show what has changed since then — the reconstruction projects, the cities trying to return to life and the initiatives to recover a region that, for years, became synonymous with disaster.
