The agency pointed to the conflict and rising fuel prices as the main factors for the drop in the Republican’s popularity. Americans’ opinion of the government has also worsened in relation to the cost of living. Only 25% of those interviewed approved of Trump’s performance in relation to the cost of living, a central theme in his 2024 presidential campaign. Among Republicans, there is also a change in approval of the president. According to the poll, only one in five party allies disapprove of Trump’s performance. Last week, that number was one in seven. The share of Republicans who disapprove of his management of the cost of living rose to 34%, compared to 27% last week. Despite Donald Trump’s falling popularity, there is little sign of an impact among Republican allies trying to maintain control of Congress in the midterm elections. According to the survey, 38% of voters consider Republicans to be more prepared to manage the American economy, compared to 34% who point to Democrats. War in Iran Americans’ approval of US strikes against Iran has fluctuated negatively in recent days. The survey shows that 35% support the offensive, down from 37% recorded the previous week, while disapproval of the attacks rose to 61%, compared to 59% last week. A survey carried out between February 28 and March 1 indicated that 27% approved of the offensives, 43% disapproved and 29% declared themselves undecided. At the time, the survey still offered the “I don’t know” option to people who answered the questionnaire. In the most recent surveys, the “I don’t know” option was not included, and 5% of respondents preferred not to answer the question about the war.
