A woman who owns one Volkswagen Tiguan warned other motorists after discovering the results of the car’s crash tests.
Taylor appeared on her TikTok profile to share that she had recently seen a video urging drivers to check the crash test results of their own cars – something that could prompt people to be more careful behind the wheel.
Out of curiosity, Taylor looked up the crash test results for his car, a Volkswagen Tiguan 2018. After finding the reviews, she said she was completely shocked by what she saw.
“How can this be allowed on the road? If I got into an accident, I wouldn’t survive,” she said in the video, adding in the caption that “Volkswagen is completely wrong here”.
Despite Taylor’s concerns, performed Volkswagen Tiguan 2018 well in major crash tests. According to CNET, the SUV received the designation Top Safety Pick from Insurance Institute for Highway Safetyone of the most closely watched safety ratings in the United States.
It earned top marks in key crash safety categories, including frontal and side crash tests, roof strength and headrest protection. In the small overlap front test, which simulates a more serious type of accident, Tiguan also rated very positively.
Still, Taylor’s video has received over 16 million views and sparked a lively debate about car safety in the comments section. “Crash off Dodge Challenger 2015. I’m never driving again,” one TikTok user joked.
«Toyota Camry-owners who finish watching your video without stress,” wrote another. “Me and mine Honda we manage fine. Stay safe out there,” commented a third. “I prefer to remain ignorant,” admitted a fourth.
