Since January, Donald Trump and the interim president of Venezuela have been signing energy and mineral agreements that open the doors to private investment and modify the nationalization model applied by the late Hugo Chávez. Rodríguez called the day before for the end of American sanctions applied to oil and other businesses. The Trump administration eased some sanctions after Maduro’s capture, which favor oil and mineral activities.
