US warns Iran about negotiations and reiterates war deadline

by RSS

White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt told reporters on Wednesday afternoon (25) that the US continues in “productive” negotiations with one or more Iranian leaders, whom she did not name, to end the weeks-long conflict.

According to the representative of Donald Trump’s government, American forces are “very close to achieving the main objectives” of military action and, if talks with Iran become “unproductive”, new bombings could occur.

“If Iran does not accept the reality of the current moment, if it does not understand that it has been defeated militarily, Trump will ensure that they are hit harder than they have ever been hit,” Leavitt said at the press conference.

The statements come after an unidentified Iranian regime official said in a statement on Iran’s English-language state broadcaster, Press TV, that the country rejects Trump’s ceasefire proposal.

Asked about a U.S. deadline for ending the war, she said the timeline was still four to six weeks. Leavitt avoided commenting on some issues raised by journalists at the White House, such as whether President Trump would submit a request for congressional authorization before sending troops to Iran.

Another issue that he avoided commenting on was the 15-point plan that would have been presented by the USA. According to her, some reports “are not entirely factual” when talking about the subject.
