The United States Central Command released new images of attacks carried out during the Operation Epic Furyshowing bombings against Iranian military systems.

According to the American military, the campaign has already caused a sharp reduction in Iranian ballistic missile and drone launches, especially after the first 24 hours of operations.

Among the targets hit was an air defense system located at Bushehr air base. Initially classified as a ballistic missile launcher, the equipment was later identified as part of the Soviet S-200 air defense system, known in the West as 5. The launcher was part of the protection network of the nearby nuclear plant.

The installation defended by the system is the Bushehr Nuclear Power Plantone of Iran’s main nuclear power generation units, located on the coast of the Persian Gulf. The system that was hit was part of a fixed air defense structure mounted on the Bushehr Airbasewith radars and platforms prepared to launch long-range missiles.

Designed during the Cold War, the S-200 was developed to protect strategic installations against aircraft flying at high altitude and long distances. Iran has maintained versions of this system for decades as part of its layered air defense network, typically positioning the launchers near military bases, industrial centers and nuclear facilities considered strategic.
