Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said on Monday (23) that he has evidence that Russia is providing intelligence information to Iran that is being used by the Islamic regime in the ongoing war against the United States and Israel in the Middle East. The statement was made after a meeting between Zelensky and the head of Ukrainian military intelligence.
According to Zelensky, Ukraine’s intelligence services have obtained evidence indicating that Moscow continues to collaborate with Tehran, including through the sharing of technical data and information obtained through electronic systems.
“Russia is using its own signals intelligence and electronic intelligence capabilities, as well as some of the data obtained through cooperation with partners in the Middle East,” said the president in publication on social network.
According to the Ukrainian government, the information was presented by the head of military intelligence, Oleh Ivashchenko, during a meeting with Zelensky, in which reports on cooperation between Russia and Iran were discussed. According to the president, the data will be shared with Western allies for evaluation.
In recent years, Russia and Iran have expanded military cooperation, especially after the start of the war in Ukraine, when Tehran began supplying drones and other equipment used by Russian forces on the battlefield.
The Kremlin recently denied accusations that it was directly helping Iran in the ongoing war against the US with military intelligence. The Russian regime classified a newspaper report as “fake news” The Wall Street Journal which claimed that Moscow had shared satellite imagery and drone technology with the Iranian regime.
The American press reported in recent weeks that Russian authorities had suggested in negotiations with the United States to stop sharing intelligence with Iran if Washington also suspended military cooperation with Ukraine, a proposal that was reportedly rejected by the American government.
