BUT, for me, as president, it is of much greater interest and importance to prevent an evil empire, Iran, from obtaining nuclear weapons and destroying the Middle East and even the world,” Trump said on his Truth platform Social. Oil price hits US$100 again despite announcement of release of reserves Trump has fluctuated in his statements about the conflict, which began by United States and Israeli forces on February 28 with major bombings that killed the Iranian supreme leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, and a good part of the country’s government leadership. At the beginning of the week, he called the offensive a “short excursion”, but later he also declared to his followers that his obligation is to “finish the work” he started. We’re just not prepared,” Chris Wright told CNBC. “Right now, all of our military resources are focused on destroying Iran’s attack capabilities and the manufacturing industry that fuels its offensive capabilities.” Wright added that it is “quite likely” that escort operations will take place later this month.
