US President Donald Trump said this Friday (6) that “there will be no deal with Iran” and that he will only accept the country’s “unconditional surrender”, marking the first week since the start of the joint Israeli-American offensive.
“There will be no deal with Iran except an UNCONDITIONAL SURRENDER! After this and after the election of a GREAT AND ACCEPTABLE leader, we, along with many of our wonderful and courageous allies and partners, will work tirelessly to bring Iran back from the brink of destruction, making it economically bigger, better and stronger than ever before,” Trump wrote on the social network he owns, Truth Social.
Trump used the slogan with which he arrived at the White House to refer to his project for Iran. “LET’S MAKE IRAN GREAT AGAIN!”, said the president.
Previously, Trump had stated in interviews with the American press that the Iranian regime had approached his government to talk about negotiations, although Tehran denied any such intention.
The Republican president stated the previous day that he will participate in the choice of Iran’s next leader, after the elimination of Ayatollah Ali Khamenei and the expectation of the fall of the Islamic regime.
In response to the American’s statements, Iran’s ambassador to Moscow, Kazem Jalali, said that there is zero chance of Trump being part of this internal decision.
“Our supreme leader is elected by the Assembly of Experts. There are no conditions for him to [Trump] negotiate with us on this matter. (…) Now [Trump] he says he wants to be part of the process, but there will be no such opportunity”, said the diplomat in an interview with public television. According to him, the news was received as “a joke” by the Iranian authorities.
