The President of the United States, Donald Trump, stated that he agreed to start new talks with Iran. In an interview with the American magazine The Atlantic, he declared that the new Iranian leadership reached out to Washington and expressed interest in opening negotiations.
Trump declined to say when the conversation would take place. According to him, some Iranian officials involved in recent contacts “are no longer alive” after what he described as a “major attack” against the Middle Eastern country.
Also this Sunday (1st), in an interview with the North American broadcaster Fox News, the president stated that 48 members of the Iranian command were killed.
Leading Iran is Ayatollah Alireza Arafi, appointed as the country’s interim supreme leader.
